Marswell | Heartfelt Donations Bring Warmth to Songshan Primary School

Daisongshu Primary School in Changleping Town, Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, currently has 86 students. Most of them live an average of 10 kilometers away from the school, and 80% are boarders. Among them, 50% are left-behind children or come from single-parent families. In 2019, with the assistance of the Wuhan-Yichang Chamber of Commerce, the Marswell Scholarship Foundation of the Hubei Youth Development Foundation conducted a field visit to Daisongshu Primary School in Wufeng and decided to provide targeted support to the school.
On the occasion of the fall semester opening in 2019, Hubei JiLi Food Co., Ltd. and Gao Huoxing Group customized two sets of school uniforms and one set of bedding for more than 100 impoverished students at our school, ensuring that the students would have a unified appearance while wearing the uniforms and sleep in clean and comfortable conditions.
“Welcome, Uncle Gao! Welcome, Sister Gong Zhaohui! And welcome, everyone!” On campus, red flags were fluttering, and the children couldn’t contain their excitement, their eager eyes all fixed in one direction. On the morning of May 31, 2021, a delegation led by Secretary-General Gao Aimin from the Hubei Marswell Charity Scholarship Team—a caring enterprise—drove thousands of miles to Dасуншу Primary School to once again carry out the “Charity Scholarship, Warmth for Songxiao” donation and scholarship activity.
During this event, the Gao Huoxing Scholarship Team presented two sets of summer school uniforms to each of the school’s 86 students, one suit to each of the 17 teachers, and four fully automatic washing machines to the boarding students. In addition, they donated basketballs, table tennis sets, and a basketball hoop. Furthermore, Gao Huoxing stated that a portion of the funds raised will later be used to improve the children’s daily meals and enhance their overall quality of life at school. The children were overjoyed to see these donations and eagerly clutched their brand-new uniforms, unable to put them down.
Principal Tang, on behalf of the entire faculty and student body, extended heartfelt gratitude to all the caring individuals from the Gao Huoxing Group for their generous donations. He urged the students to remain steadfast in their confidence in life, to set ambitious goals, to soar with determination and perseverance, and to repay the kindness of these benefactors through outstanding academic achievements. He also expressed the hope that, upon entering society, the students will stay true to their original aspirations, cultivate a spirit of gratitude toward those who have supported them, embrace responsibility, demonstrate courage in selfless service, and strive to make meaningful contributions to the community.
This donation drive not only allowed the children to feel the warmth of society, but also strengthened their conviction that “knowledge changes destiny,” planting a seed of kindness in their hearts and adding a vibrant, unforgettable chapter to their lives. I am confident that, many years from now, when these children have grown into adults, no matter where they are or what roles they hold, they will always remember the care and support extended to them by all the caring individuals—and they, in turn, will carry forward this spirit of compassion without ever ceasing.
