Marswell Scholarship Fund Holds Award Ceremony and 2020 Corporate Summit

On December 29, the Hope Project Marswell Scholarship Fund Charity Award Gala and Corporate Summit Forum was grandly held in Wuhan. Relevant officials from the Hubei Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Provincial Communist Youth League Committee’s Hope Project Office, and the Provincial Youth Development Foundation attended the event to provide guidance, presenting appointment letters and donation certificates to members of the Marswell Scholarship Fund Board of Directors and entrepreneurs. At the corporate summit forum, renowned economist Cai Xiaoqing delivered a keynote speech titled “Innovation-Driven Enterprise Development,” while Shangjing Ruifu, the Jiang’an Economic and Technological Development Zone Branch of Pacific Insurance, and Hubei Dingding High-Tech Trade Mars Fortune Liquor each conducted project roadshows and presentations, and renowned traditional Chinese medicine practitioner Gao Guangyan gave a lecture on “TCM Health Preservation.” More than 400 caring individuals from various sectors in Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and other cities attended the event. A charity auction and a pledge drive for impoverished students were also held at the venue, raising a total of RMB 120,000 in charitable donations.

The Hope Project Marswell Scholarship Fund was formerly known as the Wuhan Caring Entrepreneurs Scholarship Alliance. On June 18, 2019, the Hubei Provincial Office of the Hope Project, the Hubei Provincial Youth Development Foundation, and Hubei JiLi Food Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to establish the fund and jointly unveiled the “Hubei Hope Project·Marswell Scholarship Fund.” The fund’s finances are managed by the Hope Project, which does not deduct any administrative fees from the one-on-one scholarships; the full amount is disbursed directly to the recipient students, with the foundation’s caring entrepreneurs and organizations covering the scholarship expenses. In 2018 and 2019, the fund provided targeted assistance to two primary schools in Zhuxi County, Shiyan City, and Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, Yichang City, with total funding exceeding RMB 600,000. Gao Marswell, the initiator of the fund and general manager of Hubei JiLi Food Co., Ltd., put forward the initiative: “By cutting back on just one cigarette, one bottle of alcohol, or one lavish meal, we can help a poor student in a mountainous area,” leading caring entrepreneurs in carrying out precise assistance programs. The plan is to support 1,000 students over a five-year period.
Zhang Hui, Chairman of the Foundation and General Manager of Huazhong Oil & Gas Hubei Petroleum Co., Ltd., delivered a speech, outlining the plans for 2020. Gao Kaikai, Vice Chairman of the Foundation and General Manager of Shennongjia Longxing Tourism Development Co., Ltd., gave an overview of the scholarship program. Gao Hefei, the founder of the Foundation and General Manager of Hubei Marswell Food Co., Ltd., offered a thank-you address, expressing gratitude to leaders at all levels and caring individuals from various sectors who have shown concern for and supported the development of the Foundation.
Presentation of Donation Certificates to Philanthropic Entrepreneurs Who Support Education
The world is full of love, and everyone can be charitable. Minister Zhao of the Provincial Youth Foundation presented appointment letters to the members of the Board of Directors of the Marswell Scholarship Fund for the Project Hope and took photos with them. He also presented donation certificates and receipts to the caring entrepreneurs who donated to education in 2019 and took photos with them.
A charity gala featured a charitable auction and pledge drive. Yu Bingshou, Vice Chairman of the Foundation and General Manager of Wuhan Chutian Weibao Financial Services Co., Ltd., delivered a toast. Philanthropic entrepreneur Liu Xiaolin donated two calligraphy and painting works by renowned national artist Xiao Jiahong; Gao Kaikuo contributed two intricately carved root sculptures made from cliff cypress; and Confucian scholar De Zi presented one calligraphy and painting piece. All items were successfully auctioned at prices above their starting bids, with all proceeds going directly into the foundation’s fund. In addition, Gao Wei of Keduo Supermarket and other donors made direct pledges to support underprivileged students. The event organizer, Hubei Dingding High-tech Industry and Trade Co., Ltd., also held a charitable education promotion on-site titled “Drink Jilifu Wine, Make Students’ Dreams Come True,” under which the company pledged to donate RMB 1–5 for every bottle of Jilifu Wine sold to the charity fund.
All expenses and performance programs for this event are fully sponsored by various caring enterprises and individuals. According to reports, the fund plans to raise RMB 300,000 in 2020.
