“Spreading Love to Mountain Villages”—Speech on Gratitude and Giving Back

“Beep, beep, beep!” A blue truck pulled up at the school gate. The principal and the movers worked together to carry two large packages into the campus. Students who were preparing for “June 1st” stared curiously at the two packages wrapped in dark bags, wondering what on earth could be so mysterious. After several days of overcast weather, the sun finally smiled kindly today, bathing our faces in a rosy glow. The sky was a deep, serene blue, with a few birds occasionally singing sweet melodies. Could this be some kind of sign? Sure enough, in the afternoon, the students’ curiosity was finally satisfied: the principal opened the mysterious packages. The crowd surged toward the gate, cheering excitedly. I pushed my way in too—and it turned out to be new school uniforms donated by Marswell Group! The golden-yellow color was especially dazzling. Seeing how thrilled everyone was—some students’ eyebrows shot up in excitement, their eyes brimming with emotion; others held their new uniforms, examining them carefully. My classmates Liu and Yuanyuan were practically like little kids, unable to contain their joy and dancing around with glee. Even the teachers came out of the office to take a look, and Teacher Yang even tried one on herself! The playground was filled with laughter and cheerful chatter, and the whole school was buzzing with excitement. Once the new uniforms were handed out, the students grabbed theirs and sprinted toward the dormitory building as fast as light—so fast that they could race all the way to the third floor in one go. After changing into their new uniforms, the students seemed to have transformed: they were brighter, more energetic, and full of life. Everyone was praising each other: “Wow—is that really my classmate? How did she become so beautiful?” “You too, right? Haha!” The sunshine still bathed our campus, but unlike before, there was now an extra touch of joy and laughter.
As the saying goes, “When we drink water, we should never forget those who dug the well; when others plant the trees, we enjoy the shade.” Your help to us is deeply etched in our hearts and will remain unforgettable for a lifetime. It is precisely because of your kindness and financial support that we are even more motivated in our studies.
At present, we may not be able to do anything grand enough to repay your kindness; all we can do is study hard and achieve excellent academic results as a way of expressing our gratitude.
