As night falls and the city lights begin to glow, Jiqing Street comes alive with dazzling illumination and bustling crowds, offering an abundance of delectable local delicacies and a vibrant array of traditional Han-style folk performances, each imbued with its own unique charm. Here, culinary culture and folk traditions converge, drawing visitors from home and abroad as well as tourists from all corners of the globe to gather in joyful celebration. Jiqing Street has thus become a vibrant showcase of Wuhan’s urban character and allure.
“Fire on Jiqing Street”—A Story of Art and Culture on Jiqing Street
“Fire on Jiqing Street” is a major film directed by Qi Zuihang and artistically supervised by Teacher Tang Guoqiang, aimed at portraying the moving stories of street performers on Jiqing Street. The film seeks to preserve the intangible cultural heritage and artistic value of Jiqing Street for posterity, ensuring that more people come to appreciate the street’s invaluable cultural and artistic legacy.
Here, art and life converge, with every facet of human emotion—laughter, jest, indignation, and even playful banter—brought to vivid, unreserved life. With great anticipation, we look forward to Teacher Tang Guoqiang, as the artistic director, bringing the rich cultural heritage of Jiqing Street over more than two decades to full expression in the film.
