Passing on the “Star” Light, Spreading Love

14 Jun,2018

At 4:00 p.m. on June 10, 2018, after months of preparation, the “Ham Signature Football Charity Auction” initiated by Mr. Gao Huoxing, General Manager of Hubei JiLi Food Co., Ltd., was successfully held at the East Lake Hotel in Wuhan.

At the outset of the auction, a video filmed by Hubei Television during an on-site visit to a school in Eping Town, Zhuxi County, drew the attention of the guests in attendance: in the remote mountainous regions of Hubei, some children still have to walk 40 kilometers along rugged mountain trails just to get an education. The earnest look in their eyes as they study, coupled with the unwavering determination shining through, deeply moved every viewer.

This auction invited Mr. Duo Mi, the chief auctioneer of Jiangcheng. Under his guidance, a can of “Marswell” popcorn with special significance was bid up to RMB 1,000 per can by a caring person.

“Beckham’s football was the star of the charity auction and brought it to a climax. After five rounds of bidding, the ball finally went to ‘Evergrande’. Wuhan Evergrande Company won the bid with a price of RMB 110,000. Evergrande will join hands with ‘Marswell’ to spread love, fulfill its social responsibility as an enterprise, help more people in need, and contribute more love.”

As the initiator and organizer of this auction, Marswell not only covered all venue rental and dinner reception costs but also leveraged its influence to spark a wave of charitable goodwill in Wuhan and surrounding areas. The charity auction raised a total of RMB 272,000, with Marswell pledging to ensure that all proceeds go directly to schools and are fully donated to left-behind children in remote mountainous areas, helping to improve their living conditions and enhance their education.

In addition, at the auction, Marswell solemnly promised to all the guests and media present: during the World Cup (June 14 to July 14, 2018), for every bag of popcorn sold by “Marswell”, RMB 0.1 will be donated to sponsor 15 outstanding students from the school to go to Beijing to watch the flag-raising ceremony, so that they can broaden their horizons and experience a different kind of patriotic education.

For twenty years, Marswell has been committed to giving back to society. From providing over RMB 200,000 in aid to the disaster-hit areas following the Wenchuan earthquake ten years ago, to helping farmers each year solve the problem of selling their grain, Marswell has always carried out its charitable work in a down-to-earth and low-key manner, never seeking fame or recognition. In the new era, Marswell has adopted a relatively high-profile approach to charity, aiming to inspire more people to join in charitable endeavors, give back to society, and benefit the public. At the auction, General Manager Gao Marswell said: “To promote love, we must step from behind the scenes to the forefront. We will continue this effort in various ways over the long term and lead by example, calling on more caring individuals to get involved!” He also launched the Education Assistance Alliance at the event, with nearly a hundred caring entrepreneurs signing up on the spot. The “Education Assistance Alliance” plans to provide financial support for 1,000 impoverished students to complete their studies over the next five years.

Great love knows no bounds and is passed down from one generation to the next. Marswell will steadfastly uphold the “love” culture, acting as a “popcorn” that is full of compassion and warmth. In July, we will also promote love-themed cultural activities in Beijing, Wuhan, and other cities. During these events, participants who show their love will receive a commemorative football signed by David Beckham. Every small act of kindness is a force that cannot be ignored. Marswell looks forward to your participation...
